Airlink in Asia & The Pacific
Airlink’s first response in Asia and the Pacific was the Tohoku Earthquake and Tsunami when Japan was hit by a powerful 9.0 magnitude earthquake in 2011, one of the worst natural disasters in its history. Since, Airlink has responded to cyclones, typhoons, floods, earthquakes, and other long-term complex humanitarian crises, such as in Afghanistan and Myanmar, while also supporting emergency preparedness initiatives for some of the world’s most disaster prone island nations.
A critical component of Airlink’s response condition is the development of localized regional partnerships between Airlink, local airlines, and local disaster response organizations.
