Situation Overview

On September 11th, 2023, catastrophic floods hit the northeastern region of Libya caused by Storm Daniel. The floods swept away critical infrastructure including dams in the Eastern city of Derna, tragically killing thousands of people. Whole neighborhoods were swept away leaving thousands injured and over 40,000 people displaced. Given the scale of the flooding and the standing complex crisis in Libya, Airlink is actively responding to provide urgently needed humanitarian assistance.
