David serves as Chief Commercial Officer at Sumisho Air Lease Corporation following the acquisition of Air Lease Corporation by Sumitomo Corporation, SMBC Aviation Capital, Apollo and Brookfield in April 2026. He previously served in a range of senior leadership roles with SMBC Aviation Capital since 2002 and had been on the Board since 2007. David has over 30 years of aircraft finance and leasing experience, 5 years of which was based in Hong Kong leading the APAC region for a large European bank, and has also served on a number of industry, government, educational and charity boards. He studied International Business & Economics at Trinity College Dublin and has completed a number of Advanced Management Programs at Harvard and London Business Schools.
