Airlink in Sub-Saharan Africa
Airlink’s first responses in Sub-Saharan Africa starting in 2013 focused on health systems strengthening in Kenya, Ethiopia, and Uganda and included programs improving nutrition access, disability accessibility, and support for girls impacted by FGM. Since, Airlink works to improve fragile health care and food systems across the region, in addition to responding to cyclones, floods, droughts, and humanitarian needs stemming from instability caused by conflict, particularly in Sudan.Â
A critical component of Airlink’s response condition is the development of localized regional partnerships between Airlink, local airlines, and local disaster response organizations.
