Airlink a global nonprofit organization that connects the aviation and humanitarian sectors to send aid in emergencies, annouced it’s long-time partnership with United Airlines received the 2026 Halo Award for Best Emergency/Disaster Response Initiative.
Through its Good Leads the Way initiative, Airlink Global Signature Lead Partner United Airlines donates airlift for emergency response personnel and aid cargo to help communities affected by disasters and humanitarian crises worldwide. They first partnered with Airlink to provide lifesaving relief after a 7.0-magnitude earthquake struck Haiti, in January 2010, and have most recently collaborated on responses to Typhoon Sinlaku in Guam and the Marianas Islands and flooding in Hawaii.
“No single organization can respond to the immense needs of communities during or after a crisis or emergency alone: we need networks of committed partners across the private and public sectors – United recognizes that doing good is good for business and our work together around the world helps the communities they serve” said Paloma Adams-Allen, President & CEO of Airlink.
Since 2010, United and Airlink have helped an estimated 23 million people in the U.S. and around the world, sending nearly 5,000 emergency responders and over 2.1 million pounds of critical supplies – including medical aid, therapeutic food, and water filters – in the wake of natural disasters and crises. Together, they have saved nonprofit partners more than $9.8 million in deployment and logistics costs.
“Our focus remains on being a leader in the disaster‑relief space — bringing together the strength of our nonprofit and corporate partners and, most importantly, the many employees who step up in moments that matter,” said Jacqui Key, VP Domestic Line Stations at United and Airlink Board Member. “Partners like Airlink are essential to that effort, helping us rapidly mobilize aid, move responders and ensure support reaches communities when they need it most.”
Engage for Good convenes hundreds of nonprofit organizations and mission-driven companies at their annual conference to elevate partnerships and equip leaders with tools and strategies to deliver measurable impact. Each year, their Halo Awards recognize partnerships with strong CSR initiatives that are building creative solutions to make a societal difference.
“People around the world are facing immense hardships, driven by protracted crises and the growing frequency and intensity of natural disasters,” said Adams-Allen. “With more than 250 million people in need of life-saving humanitarian aid in 2026, Airlink is building partnerships to strengthen our global response. United has worked alongside us for fifteen years, and we hope the model we’ve created together inspires others to join us in meeting this rising need.”
