Kara O’Connell serves as Airlink’s Vice President of Finance & Operations, responsible for managing the organization’s internal operations, including accounting, human resources, and technology.

Kara brings over two decades of nonprofit management experience to Airlink. Most recently, she served as Chief Operating Officer for the Alliance to Save Energy, a Washington, D.C. based nonprofit dedicated to advancing U.S. energy productivity. Kara was with the Alliance for 17 years, serving in several capacities, including Senior Vice President of Public & Corporate Relations and Vice President of Events & Marketing. Her areas of expertise include financial management, organizational administration, stakeholder relations, communications, and event planning.

Kara received her bachelor’s degree in Visual and Written Arts and Society from Gettysburg College. She lives in Alexandria, Virginia, where you can often find her in the stands with her husband cheering on their daughter at volleyball matches or taking her rescue-pup Obi for walks along the Potomac.
