Typhoon Yutu

On Tuesday, October 25, Typhoon Yutu hit the Northern Mariana Islands, a U.S. commonwealth, before making its way to the Philippines. It is reported to have been the strongest storm to impact the region since 1968.

In the Northern Mariana Islands, heavy rainfall and high winds significantly damaged buildings and critical infrastructure, particularly in Saipan and Tinian. More than a thousand people have been left homeless and thousands of others are in need of additional assistance.

World Hope International (WHI) and Americares are among the partners Airlink is assisting with support from United Airlines. WHI is distributing filters to ensure typhoon survivors have access to clean drinking water. Americares is distributing $1.8M worth of medicine and supplies.
