Claire is based in Singapore, supporting her colleagues at the headquarters when it comes to programs with NGOs, building relationships with airline and logistics partners, and working alongside donors for the benefit of communities in crisis. These crises may be in-region, or NGOs in the region may be assisting in humanitarian responses outside of the region.
Claire joined Airlink in 2022 after years in the aviation industry. She worked for aircraft lessor BOC Aviation Ltd. and then aircraft engine manufacturer Rolls-Royce Plc, and was most recently supporting electric aircraft innovator Eviation, all in communications roles. Prior to these roles, she was an aviation reporter and then bureau chief for Indonesia at Bloomberg LP. She credits her two decades in journalism for her passion in advocacy, ensuring the voices of the minority are heard and that issues such as diversity, equity and inclusion are aired. Her coverage of terror attacks and natural disasters such as the 2004 Aceh earthquake and tsunami set her on the path to volunteering for humanitarian work. She believes raising public awareness of important issues through skillful storytelling is key to effective calls to action. Too many people are unaware that logistics is the main cost (and hurdle) to effective humanitarian aid delivery, a problem Airlink was formed to solve.
In her free time, Claire is a passionate heritage advocate, leading tours to heritage and WWII sites. She graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and English Literature, and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in English Literature. She travels to remote places and writes poetry when inspired.
