Current Situation Overview
Airlink has launched a response to the devastating flooding in the Central Appalachia region of the United States. At least 37 people have died, hundreds remain missing, and thousands of people are without power. Floodwaters have washed out bridges and roadways, making rescues difficult in hard-to-reach areas. Hundreds of families have lost their homes and the recovery process will likely take years.
As the situation unfolds, Airlink is already working with its NGO partners to deploy skilled volunteers to eastern Kentucky to bring communities access to clean water, hot meals, and debris removal services as the floods recede.Â
