Airlink Attends World’s Largest Gathering of Airline Leaders

Airlink Governors Council Chair Peter Davies and President and CEO Steve Smith have been invited to speak onstage at the IATA Annual General Meeting (AGM) and World Air Transport Summit. The International Air Transport Association represents 280 airlines, about 83% of total air traffic.

Hundreds of airline industry leaders will convene in Sydney for the AGM, providing Airlink and its aviation partners the opportunity to build vital connections for global disaster response and preparedness. Airlink’s ability to serve the humanitarian community is directly supported by a growing number of dedicated aviation partners, including more than 40 passenger and cargo airlines around the world.

“Now more than ever, we need to be discussing how we can work together to deliver rapid disaster response to communities in need,” says Smith. “We saw a record-breaking year for disasters and humanitarian crises in 2017 and it is vital that we continue to build connections between the aviation and humanitarian sectors to help people in need.”

If you’re attending the AGM, be sure to stop by the Airlink booth located on the fifth floor of the convention center, and talk with Airlink leadership in attendance including:

  • Peter Davies, Governors Council Chair & Trustee, Airlink, & CEO, Airline Management Group
  • Steven J. Smith, President and CEO, Airlink
  • Ken Gazzola, Trustee, Airlink, & Publisher Emeritus, Aviation Week
  • Barry Humphreys, Trustee, Airlink, & Former Director, Virgin Atlantic
